MCH I Cruises

Cruise 0: September 2003: Shake down cruise
Cruise 1: 1-8 April 2004: No hypoxia found on cruise
Cruise 2: 25 June - 1 July 2004: Hypoxia at all inshore stations
Cruise 3: 19-26 August 2004: Hypoxia actively dispersing
Cruise 4: 23-29 March 2005: Hypoxia found at 19 stations and shelf-wide
Cruise 5: 19-26 May 2005: Similar conditions to March cruise
Cruise 6: 7-12 July 2005: Cruise plan altered due to Hurricane Dennis
Cruise 7: 17-24 August 2005: Cruise plan similar to altered Cruise 6 plan

   
  MCH II Cruises
Cruise 8: 22-29 March 2007: Four anchor stations, mixing experiments.
  Cruise 9: 16-19 July 2007: Very little hypoxia despite large prediction.
  BRRR Cruise: 8 August 2007 (Texas Deadzone Investigation)
  Cruise 10: 6-9 September 2007: Deadzone eroding, one 36 hour anchor station.
  Cruise 11: 16-19 April 2008: very little hypoxia
 

Cruise 12: 17-20 July 2008: widespread hypoxia, agreement with SEAMAP; pre-Dolly mix

Cruise 13: April 2009; no low oxygen water encountered

Cruise 14: July 2009: Acrobat towfish, hypoxia in eastern region only

All MCH I cruises were conducted aboard the Research Vessel Gyre (a UNOLS vessel operated by Texas A&M University). MCH II cruises were conducted aboard the R/V Pelican operated by LUMCON.
